So I can't believe that I have actually managed to get some more "house stuff" done over the holiday weekend. My living room window project is no longer an "unfinished project". Not only are they reglazed and installed...but they even have window coverings. Wow! Privacy in my livingroom...something I haven't had since we moved to Wisconsin.
A couple weeks ago I got on a roll and got most of the windows completed. The problem I ran into was that when I reinstalled the windows I put two of them in the wrong place and the lock sets didn't line up correctly. We were having a party that night and rather that worrying about it I just finished getting them put in. It's been hanging over my head and I have known they needed to be done but with the holidays approaching I was coming up with lots of excuses to put it off. (I am, after all, the "Procrastination Goddess") However last week my girlfriend K told me about some shades that she had seen that she thought would fit my windows. The windows are 23 inches so finding shades has been a bit of a challenge. She gave me a catalog and sure enough they had some roller shades that actually looked like they would fit with our room. We knew we wanted roller shades or roman shades for simplicity. They were the right color, the right size and best of all they were only $20 a piece!
The shades arrived in today's mail. That meant that I needed to pull the two mis-matched windows out and swap them so that I could install the shades and finally be finished. So after a bit of Christmas shopping was done I got to work. They are installed and look better than I could have hoped! WAHOO!
Also, I gasped when I saw your living room - it looks like my living room twin. Your four windows are different, but the wood, stain, other windows, fireplace, built-ins, all look so similar to ours. Even the floor. It's eery! And, of course, gorgeous .
