It's official. In less than two weeks our house went from listed to offer accepted to sold. The buyers came by yesterday and signed off on the inspection report and today we got a new sign in the front yard with a four-letter word on it.
As of August 22nd our 1929 Bungalow is no longer
OURS. Thinking about it does make me a bit sad. Especially when I think about all the time and energy we put into it. One thing I did learn about myself is that I'm not really a true "do-it-yourselfer". Sure, I get satisfaction out of finishing a job. And yes, of course I like saving money not having to pay contractors. But when all is said and done, what I have discovered is I like decorating...NOT fixing!
Much to L's relief I am not asking for him to purchase another house that needs to be fixed. We are going with either new construction...or at the very oldest a house that was built this decade. With L being able to work from home we know that an designated office space is a must have as well as an extra bedroom or two for houseguests and possible additional children (for those of you who have been bugging me about this...DO NOT ask when as it's not even in discussion right now!) We know we have to have 3 car garage because they build them so small in Texas (the only thing they build small) that you don't have room for bicycles or lawn mowers and vehicles. L is hoping for close proximity to a golf course but to be honest, anywhere in the metro-plex is close to a golf course...or at least a driving range. Finally it has to have a pool...or at least a yard that can accomodate us putting one in.
We will leave for our house hunting trip next week and hopefully will find the home of our dreams, or at the very least, a home that we won't have to move out of in 2 years.
In the mean time
