When we purchased this house two years ago we loved the main floor. Spanish plaster walls, hard wood floors and built-ins with original stain glass windows made the home a real treasure. However, upon entering the stairwell to go to the second floor you went from 1929 beauty to 1983 tacky. It was always our intention to completely gut the upstairs but when we realized that we were going to have to sell the house without renovating we had to come up with something to make the house feel like a bungalow upstairs as well as down.

Unlike many homes of this era, we have not stumbled upon lots of "old stuff" stored in various nooks and cranies to be uncovered like buried treasure. Except for a small storage area in the basement with some old storm windows and a few solid wood doors we have no old stuff at all. The good news is the storm windows & doors we do have will be refurbished and returned to use in the house at some point in time in the future.
