The sub-title for this entry should be "The Good, The Bad and the Extremely Filthy".

This morning I went over to Home Depot to purchase paint for the kitchen. I'm normally a Sherwin Williams fan, but since this is just a "temporary fix" I didn't feel like over spending on paint. So I figured that I'd just grab a gallon of Behr paint and have them color match my kitchen towel.

Believe it or not, my lack of posting isn't due to lack of motivation. For once it's just due to lack of time.

I finally found a roller that would work with the heavy texture on my walls. Sherwin Williams had a 1 inch roller (they sell 1 1/4 inch but were out) that did a good job with coverage and didn't get mashed down. I'm not sure how well it will work on base coats but the second coat of paint went on great and in only about 1 1/2 hours the dining room was finished.

I don't know if it was because of the long weekend coupled by having a house guest until Tuesday or if my "spring fever" just took over but this week I seemed to lack any focus to get anything done. Usually I can keep myself motivated just for the excuse to write something on my blog...but for some reason my momentum seemed to have stalled and not even the prospect of writing to all you folks could get me back on track.

That's right, L informed me all he wanted to do was spend the day with me and go golfing for his birthday. So that's exactly what he did. All the money that would have been spent on an actualy gift wound up being spent on new tools.
