As all good things must come to an end...so must this blog. Not because I haven't enjoyed writing it, but because we have decided to sell our darling house and return to the land of perpetual heat (Dallas/Fort Worth, TX). We have spent the last several weeks working non-stop to get the house in a condition that we would be proud to list on the real estate market for. That meant lots of work, long hours, and no time to blog. However, I do have some really great photos and over the next few days will be updating the blog with the results of all our work so that you all can see them.

By the way, we did list the house on the market and had our first showings yesterday at an open house. This morning we were made two offers on the house and accepted one of them. If everything goes as scheduled we will be leaving our sweet little home to new owners to care for in just over a month.

I am finally starting to feel much more like myself. I can't believe how long this bronchitis and sinus infection actually hung on. We have finally been able to take the Whohead off of her nightly dose of cough medicine and I have quit having to carry a box of Kleenex with me everywhere I go. You would think that this would mean I would be racing to the paint store to finally purchase my trim paint. Unfortunately that isn't the case because L is trying like crazy NOT to come down with the same crap. He has asthma so I'm holding off a bit longer on the painting until I know that he isn't going to spend all night coughing.

Yep...it's bronchitis

I hadn't planned to see the doctor today but the Whohead started coughing pretty badly around 4:30 this morning so I figured we could "kill two birds with one stone" and both go in for an office visit. The Who came down with a runny nose over the weekend and since that's the way my illness started it didn't surprise me when she started coughing. That being said...I don't do "helpless" very well. And being a mommy with a sick kid means that you ARE helpless. So I packed her up this afternoon and went to see our family doctor. We both have bronchitis and were informed it can take up to 6 weeks to fully recover.

Four Generations

Sunday we returned from Boise completely exhausted. Monday, Whohead and I spent the day just trying to catch up on sleep. Today, we had an evaluation done on the Who to qualify her for speech therapy. (Ahhh...life does in fact return to normal.) This evening I hope to get a bit more work done on my living room windows.

Back to Boise

Let me start this post by saying "thank you" to the many readers who posted, e-mailed or called us with kind words and condolences regarding the passing of Gampy.

I really debated on if I should post something about it as it seems a bit odd to put on a "house blog". Then I remembered it was MY blog and I can post whatever I want. People don't have to read it if they don't want. Those of you who read it and responded let me know that I had made a good choice to honor him in this way.

I'm glad I did it. My sisted called me yesterday to say that my mother had printed it off and given it to members of the family, who all seem to be moved by it. It isn't something I would have written just to hand out to my family if I didn't have a blog. Having the ability to post my memories let me share them without having to "talk". As a creative writing teacher, I think Gampy would have liked that.

The Whohead and I are leaving this afternoon to return to Boise (L is already there) to spend a couple of days with family before Gampy's service. I am taking my camera as there are a couple of houses that I have been dying to have photos of and if I do get some time to just enjoy being "home" I'm going to finally get those photos taken. With any luck I might even get a "feed the addiction" post in while I'm gone.

Another Shopping Spree

I swear I have spent more money in the last two weeks on "stuff" than I have probably spent in the last 5 years. I think after today my credit card is going to have reached it's limit and I'll have to actually start working on the house again as I will be forced to stay there for lack of being able to afford putting gas in my car.

It may have been his birthday...but I got all the toys!

That's right, L informed me all he wanted to do was spend the day with me and go golfing for his birthday. So that's exactly what he did. All the money that would have been spent on an actualy gift wound up being spent on new tools.

Since the time my mother met my husband when we were dating she has called him "Boy". It's become my family's nickname for him. This weekend he celebrated his 36th birthday. We didn't get much done around the house, but we had a wonderful weekend being a family.

Monday update.

I rarely get any home renovation stuff done on the weekend. L travels frequently for work so the weekends are coveted family time. Monday's are good indicators of how the rest of the week will go and though I didn't get a lot done today and I know I have a very busy week ahead, I figure something is better than nothing.
